2019 Chevrolet Silverado vs 2019 Toyota Tundra

Problem: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 2500, and Sierra 3500 vehicles. The left-side or right-side roof rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator or the inflator sidewall may rupture.

Risk: A detached end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape and project the end cap or fragments of the inflator into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.

Fix: Dealers will replace both RRAB modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2026. Problem: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. These vehicles were remedied under NHTSA Recall 25V390 with a brake jumper wire harness that was assembled without protective tape. A wiring harness that is missing protective tape can allow the wires to become damaged.

Risk: Damaged brake jumper wires can result in power brake assist failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will remove the installed wire harness, apply protective tape, and reinstall the wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are planned to be mailed December 22, 2025. Vehicles in this recall were previously repaired under 25V390 and will need to have the new remedy completed. Risk: An oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

Problem: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Tundra vehicles. The headlight electrical circuits may power the high and low beams simultaneously, which could overheat the electrical connector.

Risk: An overheated electrical connector can increase the risk of a fire.

Fix: Dealers will modify the engine wire harness assembly and replace any damaged bulb, bulb connector, and/or headlight assembly as necessary, free of charge.
