As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, \"Controls and Displays.\"","consequence":"A gear shift position indicator that fails to illuminate can make it difficult to identify the correct transmission gear position, increasing the risk of a crash.","remedy":"Dealers will replace the GSM, free of charge.
