What owners describe

“Was driving down a road at around 40 MPH and a vehicle ran the light and took a turn in front of me. I applied brakes but car didn't try to apply them harder from the start and no warnings ever came up. Wasn't able to avoid collision and airbags deployed (only steering wheel airbag)”Apr 5, 2024 · Forward Collision Avoidance · NHTSA owner report
“Humming from cooling fans in headlights. Very distracting sound that only shuts off when headlights eventually go off.”Jan 29, 2024 · Exterior Lighting · NHTSA owner report
“Cracked cylinder head, August 2023. I'm not sure if it's a safety hazard, but it seems that oil being sprayed around a hot engine could be a fire hazard. Also, since the oil light comes on with no warning, it could cause people to have to pull over on a busy interstate because you shouldn't drive with the oil light on.…”Jan 15, 2024 · Engine · NHTSA owner report

Sources & method

Safety Signal starts every model-year at 100 and subtracts points per open NHTSA recall campaign by severity: critical 15 (fire risk, park-outside or do-not-drive advisories), high 8 (brakes, steering, airbags, loss of drive power, structure, battery), moderate 6, minor 3 (software, labels, lighting fixed by an update). Floor 35. A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 70, D ≥ 60, otherwise F. Complaint counts and NHTSA crash ratings are shown separately and are not blended into the grade.

EPA figures come from fueleconomy.gov vehicle records. Recalls, complaints, investigations and crash ratings come from NHTSA's public flat files, refreshed weekly.
